BTG Pactual looking to take over Atvos with $90M capital injection

In Brazil, Reuters report BTG Pactual is looking to take over Atvos, Odebrecht’s struggling ethanol producer, through a capital injection of $90 million. Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Investment has also sought to make a similar play recently in exchange for current debtholders taking a reduced payout under the restructured company. Atvos’ current restructuring plan was approved by creditors just five months ago. Odebrecht has been under a lot of pressure to divest and restructure its holdings due to its part in the ongoing national corruption scandals.
