Enjoy sustainable self-care with coconut fiber spa slippers

October 19, 2020 |

In the United Kingdom, spa supplier BC Softwear has introduced 100% biodegradable slippers made from coir, a soft, fuzzy fiber obtained from the outer husk of coconuts.

The slippers are available in cream cotton or jute and can be recycled or tossed with food waste. Bamford, a luxury spa chain, has already put in an order.

“We’re naturally extra pleased to have this order but this stands out particularly because it demonstrates the continued commitment to supporting a change in the industry towards biodegradable products,” said Barbara Cooke, BC SoftWear CEO and founder. “We were determined that our slippers would be made from natural, sustainable and 100% biodegradable, and we’re very happy with the results.”
