January 7, 2021 |

In Texas, DTN reported more details regarding Valero’s lawsuit against Sundive for failing to provide the 106 million RINs contracted for the Q4 2020 compliance period. Sundive’s failure to provide the RINs forced Valero into the open market to buy the required RINs, unnecessarily costing the company $10.1 million. Sundive said it was having difficulties with the EMTS RIN trading system after failing to deliver 21.5 million RINs in September, court documents show, and then also failed to deliver RINs for October and November when Valero went into the market.
