January 13, 2021 |

In Malaysia, the Malaysia Reserve reports the government is expected to officially file its complaint against the European Union’s palm oil ban at the World Trade Organization on Friday. The decision to move forward with the complaint was approved recently by the Cabinet who has committed to fight against what it feels are discriminatory policies. Malaysia is also calling for the EU to reclassify palm oil, which is currently classified as “high risk” in terms of indirect land use change, deforestation and CO2 emission.
