London startup introduces biodegradable computer

In London, a computer company has launched a biodegradable computer featuring a casing made from vegetable waste. 

Dubbed Abacus, Pentaform’s computer is comprised of a portable keyboard that can be used with any display. After its useful life has ended, the user can recycle the technical elements and leave the biodegradable polymer casing to biodegrade in soil. Even the product packaging—made from mushrooms—is biodegradable. Abacus is also easy on the wallet, selling for $121. 

Abacus includes USB ports, an ethernet port, HDMI and VGA outputs, a speaker, track-pad, Windows 10, and a quad-core processor. Abacus has 63% lower carbon footprint than a desktop and has low energy consumption.
