Brazil reaches out to White House but ethanol trade remains a sticking point

In Brazil, AgWeek reports that with the Biden Administration now officially installed in the White House, the Brazilian government has reached out to discuss a better relationship between the two countries but the failure last year to agree on quotas and duties on US origin-ethanol has strained relations. Before the new president was inaugurated, biofuels and farm groups already reached out to the transition team in hopes of unlocking the Brazilian ethanol market post-haste despite Brazil’s insistence on access to the US sugar market in exchange.
