Biofuels industry now pushing for LCFS policies as fast as possible

In Washington, Bloomberg reports that the biofuels industry that was once wary about the Low Carbon Fuel Standard in California that then spread northward all the way to British Columbia is now seen as a key opportunity for keeping the industry in business. The question now becomes how quickly those state-level policies can be rolled out nationally. Ethanol producers such as Green Plains see the growing opportunity but so do oil refiners who are quickly converting excess refining capacity to renewable diesel.
