March 1, 2021 |

In Kenya, The Africa Report says Vuma Biofuels will shortly begin supplying power produced from sugarcane bagasse briquettes to industrial tea users but sees the real opportunity in household energy. The company is in the early stages of negotiations with the UN High Commission for Refugees to supply briquettes for clean cooking to help reduce deforestation and improve energy access for refugees living in the country. The company is preparing for its next $5 million investment round in Q3 when it will in part seek funding to expand into the clean cooking market.
