DigestConnect 30 – Cellulosics! – a clarification

March 2, 2021 |

In the last week of October 2020, Chemtex published and distributed a video presentation titled “DigestConnect 30 – Cellulosics!”, available on BioChannel.TV.

Further to the publication, Versalis S.p.A. (“Versalis”), a company fully owned by Eni S.p.A. (“Eni”), realized that certain information provided by Chemtex, specifically in the slide shown between minute 26.12 and minute 27.21, while not intentional, did not fully represent the reality of facts.

Therefore, both Versalis and Chemtex wish to clarify that:

  1. with reference to Chemtex activities in relation to the Crescentino Plant:
    1. Chemtex, previously part of the Mossi & Ghisolfi (“M&G”) Group, performed part of the engineering activities during the time in which the plant was owned by M&G itself and under the overall project coordination of M&G Group. Eni and Versalis acquired the Plant subsequently to Chemtex’s activities. Chemtex never entered into a partnership with and never supplied services to neither Eni nor Versalis;
    2. The Plant has been developed under the PROESA Technology, which is now a proprietary technology of Versalis.
  1. with reference to Brazil’s GranBio Plant and Slovakia’s Strazske Plant, the Plants have been developed under the PROESA Technology, which is now a proprietary technology of Versalis. Moreover for both projects the basic engineering services, procurement and assistance were contracted to legal entities which now have been acquired by Versalis and Chemtex have never been contracted for engineering services by the owners of such plants.
