In Brazil, Platts reports ANP data shows hydrous ethanol sales fell more than 10% in January compared to January 2020, in line with lower blending trends seen throughout the pandemic period. Of the total 1.7 billion liters sold in January, 91% of the volume was in the center-south region while much of the remaining volume was sold in the north-northeast region. Increased demand in the NNE in February is expected in the next month’s report.
