In Minnesota, Reuters reports that Cargill plans to boost soybean crushing at its Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Sydney, Ohio facilities in part due to increased demand for soy oil for fuel. The Cedar Rapids facility will see an increase of 10% in crushing capacity while the Sydney facility will double with an investment of $225 million. Increased automation will be added to five other facilities as well. The $475 million in total investment will take place over five years.
