Three vessels headed to China loaded with US ethanol

March 9, 2021 |

In Texas, Reuters reports three vessels with capacity to carry 30,000 metric tons of ethanol each are headed to China from the US’s Gulf Coast region. Though it’s not clear if the vessels are carrying solely ethanol but if they are, they would represent more Chinese ethanol imports from the US than during all of 2020. Following the easing of the trade war between the US and China late last year, US ethanol began flowing to China in October.
