EPA said to be exploring combining 2021 and 2022 RVOs

March 11, 2021 |

In Washington, Reuters reports that two sources say the Environmental Protection Agency is considering blending the renewable volume obligations for 2021 and 2022 simultaneously. The EPA said it was still reviewing options but didn’t say if the proposal to combine the two years’ obligations was one of them. The biofuels industry as well as the oil industry who must comply with the blending mandates were extremely dismayed when the EPA failed to release 2021 proposals by the legal deadline, blaming the COVID-19 pandemic for delays and kicking it over to the Biden Administration.
