Regina awards True North Renewable Fuels grant to study $1.92B canola crushing complex

March 11, 2021 |

In Canada, CJME radio reports the Regina City Council approved a C$1 million grant for True North Renewable Fuels to further explore the viability of setting up a C$2.4 billion canola crushing and processing facility in the area. The complete study is valued at C$21 million but getting the local grant also unlocks the opportunity to receive a C$5 million grant from the federal government’s Agriculture Clean Technology Fund. The “agriculture value-add complex” would produce renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel in addition to canola meal. The facility would produce around 1 million metric tons of canola oil annually.
