Ex-PetroVietnam execs amongst those handed hefty prison sentences for failed Phu Tho ethanol project

In Vietnam, Vietnam+ reports the former board chairman of PetroVietnam has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for his role in corruption related to the construction of the Phu Tho ethanol plant. His total prison sentence is for 30 years as a result of other corruption cases. Other senior executives on the failed project were sentenced to between three years and six and a half years in prison. The construction firm appointed to build the project had no experience in building ethanol plants.
