Oman breaks ground on first UCO-based biodiesel facility

In Oman, the Oman Observer reports that the country’s first UCO-based biofuel production facility should be online by June 2021. The facility is being co-developed with Green Fuels from the UK together with Wakud, a leading oil recycler in Oman and will be located at Khazaen Economic City. Construction has kicked off with a groundbreaking ceremony. The land for the project was secured in June 2020. The hope that once online, the UCO-based biodiesel produced will help to kickstart domestic biofuel production and highlight opportunities in the local bioeconomy.
