Bihar first Indian state to approve its own biofuel promotion policy

In India, the Indian Express newspaper reports Bihar has become the first state to approve its own biofuel policy, which includes up to a 15% capex subsidy for investors installing new ethanol production capacity, including from grains. Other tax and fee rebates, discounts and waivers are included in the policy to further promote production, which can use molasses as feedstock but also corn, or even broken grains and rice. The state is a major corn-producing state, with corn production found in 18 districts around the state.
