India approves E100 for sale but more flex-fuel vehicles required

March 25, 2021 |

In India, DNA reports the government has officially approved E100 following indications of the same last week. Oil marketing companies are now allowed to sell E100 but only to flex-fuel vehicles. The Times of India reported earlier this week that the government may soon ask domestic automobile manufacturers to start producing flue-fuel vehicles in order to increase the uptake of E100 consumption. The current of availability of flex-fuel vehicles in the country is limited while ethanol supplies to achieve the 10% and 20% blending mandates still require more installed capacity.
