Biden Administration wants EVs included in RIN program

In Washington, Reuters reports the Biden Administration wants to see how charging electric vehicles with power produced from renewable fuels, such as methane produced at dairy farms, could generate RINs. The White House asked the Environmental Protection Agency to look into how such a policy shift might be achieved. There are questions about how to track biogas from production to the battery needing resolutions before the policy could be expanded to include those RINs, but RIN production from biogas is already on the books even if it hasn’t yet been done.
