India hits record 7.2% ethanol blending January-April

April 7, 2021 |

In India, the Business Standard newspaper reports that ethanol blending during the first four months of the year hit a record high of 7.2%, flying past the previous high of 5.2%. The government has been pushing hard for states to achieve the 10% blending mandate, easing restrictions on feedstocks such as grains and providing soft funding to expand production capacity. Blending could reach 8% by the end of the marketing year in November is oil marketing companies take delivery of all the ethanol they have contracted for.
