Sens. Klobuchar and Ernst developing bipartisan ethanol infrastructure bill

April 7, 2021 |

In Washington, AgWeek reports that US Senator from Minnesota Amy Klobuchar and US Senator from Iowa Jodi Ernst are developing a bipartisan bill that would provide $500 million in grants over five years to help fuel retailers supply higher ethanol blends. The legislation goes hand-in-hand with South Dakota Senator John Thune’s Adopt GREET Act that aims at making ethanol more competitive environmentally, requiring the Environmental Protection Agency to use the GREET model, and incentivizes higher blends.
