Stolt Tanker to trial GoodFuels marine biofuel on Rotterdam-to-Houston route

In the Netherlands, Ship and Bunker reports Stolt Tanker has teamed with GoodFuels to trial marine biofuel in the chemical tanker Stolt Inspiration’s Rotterdam-to-Houston run. With marine biofuels becoming more competitive, with the premium over conventional fuels having shrunk to just a few percent, more companies are doing trials such as Stolt, this time with a 37,000 dwt vessel. GoodFuels says its fuels offer up to 90% greenhouse gas reductions and is a drop-in fuel compared to many of the new alternative marine fuels coming to market that are not.
