Egypt announces $100M ethanol project at Damietta Port

In Egypt, Business Today Egypt reports the petroleum and mineral resources minister has announced the development of a $100 million ethanol facility in Damietta Port that will produce 100,000 metric tons of renewable fuel annually. The project is being developed by the newly launched government-owned Egyptian Company for Bioethanol in an effort to reduce fuel imports and support domestic industry that requires ethanol for manufacturing while surplus supplies would be exported. The feedstock to be used was not announced.
