Ethanol stocks tighten for fifth week in a row

In Washington, Brownfield Ag News reports Energy Information Administration data shows ethanol production rose yet again last week to 945,000 barrels a day, just 79,000 barrels below the average in 2019 before the pandemic struck, but even so stocks fell to the lowest in six months at 19.736 million barrels. Last week was the fifth week in a row that stocks continued to drop yet ethanol production rose most weeks. Blending demand fell slightly last week as gasoline consumption fell slightly but it was still well above the same period last year when the pandemic first began.
