Murray River Energy ethanol plant referred for corruption investigation by local council

In Australia, the Shepparton News reports that following a third-party audit regarding the MOAMA ethanol plant development by Murray River Energy commissioned by the Murray River Council, the Council has referred the case to the Independent Commission Against Corruption and NSW Police for further investigation. The Council granted the project a loan of A$900,000 but no payments have been paid. The report showed there had been irregularities regarding the disbursement of the funds between the council and the project developers.
