Braskem launches world-first renewable PE wax

June 23, 2021 |

In Brazil, Braskem has launched the world’s first polyethylene (PE) wax from a renewable source, intended for the production of adhesives, cosmetics, paints and compounds used in the transformation of thermoplastic resins. The product, commonly used as a viscosity modifying agent in several formulations, has the same properties and performance as the version made with PE of fossil origin. Produced from sugarcane ethanol, the new solution offers a smaller CO2 footprint, is recyclable and has a multimarket application.

With the arrival of PE wax from a renewable source on the world market, Braskem innovates and expands the I’m greenTM bio-based portfolio with products that go beyond existing resins supplied to date. The I’m greenTM brand represents the company’s commitment to the circular economy and is comprised of renewable and recycled source solutions.
