Canada’s Come By Chance may be converted into renewable diesel facility

June 28, 2021 |

In Canada, the idled Come By Chance refinery owned by North Atlantic Refining Limited Partnership may be sold to Cresta Fund Management and converted into a renewable diesel facility. The facility was idled last spring in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic and since then the provincial government has floated NARL millions of dollars to keep more than 200 full-time jobs going while the company found a buyer. Fewer jobs would be needed for the renewable diesel conversion but it is felt that fewer jobs is better than a permanent shutdown and a loss of all jobs.
