ANP biodiesel auction sells 1.1 billion liters for $1.2B

In Brazil, Renewables Now reports that the most recent biodiesel auction held by the Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANP) contracted about 1.1 billion liters of biodiesel at an average price of $1.1 per liter for a total of $1.2 billion. The fuel contracted over four days will be used to supply the domestic blending mandate between July 1 and August 31. Rising vegetable oil prices globally have seen biodiesel prices increase as well which has caused the government to reduce its blending levels when prices rise too high.
