India opens public consultation on E12 and E15 draft regulations

In India, the Times of India newspaper reports the transportation ministry has issued draft regulations for E12 and E15 as part of the country’s move towards 20% ethanol blending and flex-fuel vehicle use. A 30-day public comment period on the regulations has been opened. More details on the flex-fuel policy are expected within the next week. It is expected to help quickly grow demand for ethanol and help ease the country’s surpluses in sugar, corn and wheat.
