Romanian oilseed crusher to cover almost all energy needs with husk-powered CHP

In Romania, Ziarul Finaciar reports Expur, one of the largest local oil and biodiesel companies and owned by Avril since April, will invest EUR15.7 million in a cogeneration facility at Slobozia, which will use sunflower seed husks as feedstock.

The project, which should be online in about two years following two years of project development, will provide all of the steam and 90% of the electricity required for its oil and biodiesel plants in Slobozia.
