Calumet to invest $200M in partial renewable diesel conversion in Great Falls

July 5, 2021 |

In Montana, the Helena Independent Record newspaper reports Calumet plans to invest $200 million to partially convert its Great Falls refinery to 10,000 barrels per day of renewable diesel production. The conversion should be online already next year to produce 140 million gallons per year from soybean oil. Calumet says the project is driven by demand in Canada and along the West Coast for low carbon fuels and will drive the energy transition in the state.
