India to release flex-fuel guidelines for auto manufacturers by October

July 6, 2021 |

In India, the IANS news agency reports that the government is likely to issue guidelines for auto manufacturers by October regarding the production of flex-fuel vehicles. The move aims to drive further ethanol consumption as the government quickly shifts to 20% ethanol blending by 2023. Currently only two-wheeled vehicles are manufactured domestically that can run on E100. In addition to the guidelines will likely be incentives for the manufacture of four-wheeled vehicles to ensure that manufacturers transition quickly.
