Mexico City’s Metrobús launches biodiesel trial

July 28, 2021 |

In Mexico, Metrobús has put into circulation two buses on Line 2, which will use a mixture of diesel and biofuel produced at the Central de Abastos in Mexico City from waste. This is a pilot test that will be launched in a total of 10 buses in all the lines of the system during August. The trial began last month in the confinement yards of Metrobús, where buses were tested using the biodiesel blend. The final goal of this pilot is to find the mechanism to achieve a greater integration of this clean energy in the entire Metrobús fleet.
