Assam approves statewide ethanol production promotion policy

In India, Northeast Now reports that the state of Assam’s cabinet has approved the Ethanol Production Promotion Policy 2021 in an effort to attract ethanol investment to the state. Following in the footsteps of Uttar Pradesh who approved a similar policy earlier this year, Assam’s policy goes until 2026, providing financial incentives and an enabling environment for investment. Support for standalone ethanol plants as well as farmers to supply their crop waste as feedstock are also included in the new policy.
