Egypt, US discuss partnership to launch waste-to-biofuel project

In Egypt, the Zawya news agency reports that 3i Energy are exploring a partnership with the Ministry of Environment to develop biofuel production from Municipal Solid Waste that could produce hydrogen, paraffin and fertilizer as co-products. The ministry has been working to establish MSW infrastructure including recycling and landfills, allowing for the 3i Energy technology to plug into the projects underway. The potential biofuel project currently being discussed would be located in Fayoum, about 60 miles south of Cairo.
