Oman pushes for domestic circular economy by regulating 11 waste streams

August 16, 2021 |

In Oman, the Oman Observer reports that beyond the country’s push for used cooking oil-based biodiesel, it is regulating the recycling of 11 waste streams to promote the circular economy. The list of products for recycling include UCO, wood waste, Lead Acid Battery (LAB) waste, plastic waste, End-of-Life tires, paper waste and cardboards, glass waste, ferrous waste, non-ferrous metal waste, and waste electrical and electronic equipment. The sultanate wants to promote the circular use of those waste streams domestically rather than export them.
