August 16, 2021 |

In California, local press reports that the Monterey-Salinas Transit has been awarded a $594,919 grant from the state’s Department of Transportation to reduce GHG emissions in regional transport, including for purchasing renewable diesel for its existing diesel buses. The diesel bus fleet is expected to reduce its GHG emissions by 20,148 metric tons per year. Funding was also provided for electric buses and electric charging stations for buses. More funding could be forthcoming from the major transportation bill that was passed by the Senate last week.
