US District Court judge gives plantiff two weeks to refile failed ADM antitrust case

August 16, 2021 |

In Illinois, Bloomberg reports a US District Court judge has thrown out an attempted antitrust case over Archer Daniels Midland allegedly manipulating ethanol prices, saying the lead plaintiff hadn’t sufficiently proven that it had been “knocked out of the market”. As a result, the judge for the Central District of Illinois has given the company until August 30 to refile the case or lose the opportunity to move the case forward. At least seven cases in Illinois and previously in Nebraska had been filed against ADM for tampering with the ethanol market.
