Nigerian National Petroleum Company secures 20K ha for ethanol plant in Adamawa State

In Nigeria, the Daily Post newspaper reports that 20,000 hectares in Adamawa State has been provided to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company to set up an 89 million liter per year ethanol plant. Ethanol from the project is expected to be blended domestically or exported to the region. In 2017, the NNPC announced intentions to invest $100 million in sugarcane-based ethanol production in the state while it is also developing sugarcane-based and cassava-based ethanol plants in other states around the country
