Ukrainian bioenergy association calling for implementation of biomass market at last

September 16, 2021 |

In the Ukraine, Interfax-Ukraine reports the national bioenergy association is calling for the creation of a biofuel exchange for biogas plants to ensure they have a consistent supply of feedstock. It says the domestic biomass market is underdeveloped, causing challenges for the different energy producers that use biomass as feedstock to displace 4 billion cubic meters of natural gas equivalent. Although a bill to establish such a market was passed three years ago, its implementation has been stuck at the ministry level.
