Clariant still plans to commission Romanian 2G ethanol plant by year’s end

In Romania, after four years of construction, Romania Insider reports that Clariant plans to complete its EUR140 million cellulosic ethanol facility this year, not only completing construction but also commissioning start up. Around 80,000 metric tons of straw will be collected during this current harvest season from 20 different partners to supply the facility’s startup. Of the total investment, EUR40 million came from the European Union while the remainder of the funds came from Clariant itself.
