Goa to explore ethanol production at defunct sugar mill

In India, MENAFN reports Goa plans to start ethanol production from sugarcane at the defunct Sanjivani Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana sugar mill. The mill has been shut down for several years due to poor management and was the only mill in the state. The Deccan Sugar Technologists Association has been contracted as consultants to develop a project report. The state is willing to provide a $7.54 million soft loan for setting up of the ethanol project.
