First flight using Pertamina’s Bioavtur SAF successful

In Indonesia, the Jakarta Globe newspaper reports that Pertamina successfully flew a CN-235 propeller aircraft using a 2.4% blend of the company’s Bioavtur aviation biofuel. The flight from Jakarta to Bandung was the first test flight using the fuel that is produced from palm oil. Bioavtur production is set to start at Pertamina’s refinery in Cilacap in Central Java producing 8,000 barrels per day of fuel. The technology was developed jointly by the state-owned oil company and the Bandung Institute of Technology.
