Towngas to produce SAF from HVO for Hong Kong market

In China, the South China Morning Post newspaper reports that Hong Kong and China Gas (Towngas) will begin producing 50,000 metric tons per year of sustainable aviation fuel from HVO in hopes that Cathay Pacific and other airlines operating out of Hong Kong International Airport will use the fuel. Cathay, which committed to 10% SAF by 2030 and has so far secured 2% of its needs by 2023, but has indicated it prefers its SAF to be produced from household waste. Cathay invested in Fulcrum BioEnergy in 2014.
