#2 Jane Goodall, Moby team up for cultivated meat documentary

In California, primatologist/environmentalist Jane Goodall is narrating a new documentary on cultivated proteins. Called Meat the Future, the film chronicles the technology and market development of Upside Foods, a Berkeley-based foodtech startup targeting cell-based chicken.

The film is directed by Liz Marshall, the voice behind other environmental and animal rights documentaries like The Ghosts in our Machines and Water on the Table.

“I’m excited about the documentary because it is solution-focused,” Goodall says in a press statement. “The film proposes a way forward, to reduce methane, to reduce water and land use, to lessen the suffering of animals, and to prevent future viral outbreaks.” She adds that she hopes is “sparks… imagination and inspires change.”

The film will feature music from musician, songwriter, singer, producer, and animal rights activist Moby, who is also listed as an executive producer.
