NEXT Renewable Fuels running up against wetlands challenges for Oregon project

In Oregon, Pamplin Media reports that NEXT Renewable Fuels is getting close to securing its permits to build a facility at Port Westward, but opponents to the project are getting louder. The project is set to be located on 118 acres of wetlands, and in order to do so the company has to create or improve other wetlands nearby in exchange but critics say the proposed 484-acre mitigation site could instead cause further problems for the Beaver Drainage and Irrigation District.
