#5 Israel’s Herzog claims first president to try cultivated meat

In Israel, Isaac Herzog has become the first president to try cultivated meat. At a National Climate Strategy hype event ahead of Herzog’s departure to the COP26 meeting, the president ate cultivated chicken produced by Future Meat.

He called it “amazingly delicious” and emphasized the importance of taking advantage of COP26 meeting to showcase Israel’s “extensive” climate technology and solutions on the world state. “We certainly have much to be proud of,” Herzog told attendees.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s prime minister had previously sampled lab-grown beef while on a visit to Aleph Farms in December 2020.

World leaders convene this week at the COP26 meeting in Glasgow to formulate a coordinated plan to collectively address climate change.
