Thailand caps fuel prices and drops B10 and B20 in response to high palm oil prices

November 25, 2021 |

In Thailand, the Pattaya Mail newspaper reports the Energy Policy Administration Committee has decided to cap the price of B7 at 83.7 cents per liter until March in an effort to rein in soaring energy prices, especially for businesses and truckers. Only B7 will be available until March with B10 and B20 being pulled from the market as a result of soaring palm oil prices. The price cap and limitation on biodiesel sales is expected to also reduce the amount of money drawn monthly from the Oil Fund.
