Public hearings for CO2 pipelines crossing Iowa picking up steam

December 28, 2021 |

In Iowa, KCHA News reports the Iowa Utilities Board has scheduled public hearings, and in some cases rescheduled meetings due to poor weather, about Navigator CO2 Venture’s proposed Heartland Greenway System CO2 pipeline that would run through 36 of the state’s counties. Both Navigator and Summit Carbon Solutions are targeting Floyd County, whose hearing has been reset for January 24, as Navigator seeks to pick up CO2 from the Valero Energy Corporation ethanol plant west of Charles City and SCS seeks CO2 from the Homeland Energy Solutions ethanol plant between New Hampton and Lawler. SCS already held its hearing in Floyd County.
