January 10, 2022 |

In Washington, Platts reports IncubEx says interest in cellulosic D3 RINs surged between mid-December and Jan. 5, reaching 2.5 million credits traded during that period on the Nodal Exchange. No trades of D3 RINs were made at all between when November 2020 when the exchange began trading futures of the cellulosic biofuel credits until December 15 when the first exchange of 100 lots representing 1 million RINs was traded. In early January, 50 lots were traded and then another 100 lots, indicating there may at last be interest in the futures contract.
